Overview

This incredible 13-day adventure allows you to visit some sites with breathtaking views, like sipping champagne overlooking the iconic castle, tasting some local delicacies at the Kuromon Ichiba Market, and trying their hands at making the kimono sash. A day excursion to admire the stunning Himeji Castle in the cherry blossom time, a stay at a Mt Koya temple overnight, and immerse themselves in nature for a meditative and spiritual retreat. To steer clear of congested tourist spots, we have meticulously selected a few significant and worthwhile attractions to ensure you won’t miss out on anything. In Kyoto, visit the Kawai Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its beauty and connection to the goddess Tamayorihime. Participants will make a wish and create hand-mirror-shaped votive plaques using their own makeup, envisioning our ideal appearance and beauty, inside and out. Then, visit a fragrance workshop and learn how to make incense or natural perfume. A few more highlights, such as interacting with geisha during a traditional tea ceremony in Gion, some sake tasting, learning to make tofu from soy milk, and participating in a Taiko drum experience to awaken the musical and rhythmic cells. Of course, no trip in Japan can be complete without soaking in the natural hot spring and shopping at the popular shopping districts.

Depart Canada to Osaka on an overnight flight. Lose 1 day when flying across the International date line. In-flight meals and entertainment are served at the airline's discretion.

Welcome to Osaka! An amazing and beautiful body to soul journey awaits! Upon landing at Osaka International Airport, after collecting your luggage and going through immigration, an English-speaking airport assistant will warmly greet you and escort you through the exit area to your reserved transportation. Transfer to hotel for check-in. At front desk, you will receive a welcome pack from us. The rest of the day is yours to explore Osaka at your own pace. Whether you prefer wandering through bustling shopping districts, visiting historic temples and shrines, or simply relaxing and soaking up the city's vibrant atmosphere, Osaka has something to offer everyone.
Day 3 Osaka
Your full-day Osaka sightseeing adventure begins this morning when your dedicated tour manager greets you at your hotel's lobby. Start your day with a visit to the Osaka History Museum. Next, stroll through Osaka Castle Park and visit Osaka Castle, one of the city's most beloved attractions. Standing majestically amidst a sprawling park, this castle is a concrete reconstruction serving as a captivating museum. Originally built during the 16th century, the original structure fell victim to a fire, and the present castle is a faithful recreation. During springtime, the park transforms into a stunning cherry blossom viewing destination. Then, make way to Kuromon Ichiba Market. Operating since the late Edo period, this market has been catering to the culinary needs of the Naniwa people. Stretching 580 meters south from Sennichimae, about 150 stores sell fresh fish, vegetables, fruits, food, and clothing, attracting approximately 18,000 people on weekdays and up to 150,000 people during the year-end holidays. As many chefs from traditional restaurants shop here, it's a great place to find a favorite spot for lunch. After lunch, enjoy a hands-on experience by making a handbag from a Japanese kimono sash. In the evening, savor a delectable sushi or sashimi dinner at a local restaurant, followed by an exploration of the vibrant Shinsekai district.

Day 4Osaka - Himeji - Osaka
After the breakfast, let's take the train to Himeji today. Upon arriving, you will visit Himeji Castle. This castle is the largest and one of the most visited castles in Japan due to its pristine beauty and history, it was even named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993 (the first in Japan). Near to Himeji Castle lies Kokoen Garden, a captivating space featuring nine distinct Japanese gardens that transform with each season. Admire the vibrant flowers, the serene bamboo garden, and the tranquil pond graced by colorful carp. Within the garden's embrace, discover Soju-an Tea Room, where you can indulge in a traditional tea ceremony, savor a cup of matcha in an authentic tea room setting. Returning towards Himeji Station, discover the bustling Miyuki or Omizosuji Shopping Streets. These covered shopping arcades house a variety of small shops and boutiques, offering an excellent opportunity to pick up souvenirs. Located on the east side of the main boulevard connecting Himeji Station and Himeji Castle, these shopping streets are a delight to explore. After shopping, go back to Osaka. This evening is free to explore Osaka Dotonbori.

Day 5Osaka - Mt Koya
Today, a day starts taking train to Mt Koya and visit the Okunoin-Temple. Okunoin is the site of the mausoleum of Kobo Daishi (also known as Kukai), the founder of Shingon Buddhism and one of the most revered persons in the religious history of Japan. Okunoin is one of the most sacred places in Japan and a popular pilgrimage spot. The Ichinohashi Bridge (first bridge) marks the traditional entrance to Okunoin, and visitors should bow to respect Kobo Daishi before crossing it. Across the bridge starts Okunoin's cemetery, the largest in Japan, with over 200,000 tombstones lining the almost two-kilometer-long approach to Kobo Daishi's mausoleum. Wishing to be close to Kobo Daishi in death to receive salvation, many people, including prominent monks and feudal lords, have had their tombstones erected here over the centuries. Next visit the Kongo-Buji Temple, the head temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect. This sprawling and picturesque temple complex boasts an array of structures, including one of Japan's largest rock gardens, the Banryutei. Admire the exquisite fusuma paintings by a renowned historical artist and marvel at Hidetsugu's sword. After your tour, check into the temple lodging and spend a peaceful night on Mount Koya. Immerse yourself in the temple's serene atmosphere by participating in various activities designed to calm the mind. In the evening, indulge in a delectable dinner at the temple, savoring the flavors of traditional Japanese Buddhist cuisine. This evening, overnight in a monastery.

Day 6Mt Koya - Kyoto
As the soft glow of dawn paints the sky, your day begins at the sacred Mt. Koya. You rise with the sun, your heart filled with anticipation for the spiritual journey that awaits you. Your morning starts early today, as you join the monks of the Temple for their morning rituals. The air is crisp and cool as you step outside, the sound of birdsong filling the air. The ancient temple, bathed in the soft light of the rising sun, exudes a sense of peace and tranquility. As you enter a meditation hall, where you sit in silence, focusing on your breath and allowing your mind to quieten. The gentle chanting of the monks fills the space, creating a serene atmosphere that washes over you. After meditation, you join the monks for a simple yet nourishing breakfast. The food is prepared with care and attention, and you savor each bite, grateful for the opportunity to receive this meal. Following breakfast, you are invited to explore the Temple's garden. The garden is a masterpiece of landscaping, with winding paths that lead through lush greenery and past serene ponds. As you stroll through the garden, the beauty of nature, combined with the spiritual energy of the Temple, creates an environment that is conducive to reflection and contemplation. Back to Koya Station. Leave Koya and board the train for Kyoto. (about 3.5 hours) Upon arrival in Kyoto, your first stop will be Kawai Shrine. This sacred UNESCO Historical site enshrines Tamayorihime no Mikoto, the mother of Emperor Jinmu. Due to her exceptional beauty, akin to a precious jade, Tamayorihime no Mikoto is revered as the deity of beauty. Women of all ages flock to Kawai Shrine to seek blessings for enhanced beauty. Devotees creatively depict their ideal visage by using their own cosmetic materials on vanity mirror-shaped ema votive plaques (kagami-ema). These plaques are then hung on a rack, carrying their heartfelt wishes for radiant and youthful appearances. This afternoon you are free to explore the city at your own interests.

Today, you will visit Maruyama Park. Maruyama Park is a place of natural beauty and cultural significance, known for its stunning cherry blossom scenery. Our morning sightseeing excursion begins at the renowned Fushimi Inari shrine, a Kyoto highlight renowned for its vibrant red Torii gates. Fushimi Inari Taisha offers an array of attractions, including enchanting shrines, winding paths adorned with crimson arches, and captivating hiking trails that lead up Mount Inari. The motif of the fox, evident through the abundance of fox statues scattered throughout the shrine, adds a captivating touch to this sacred space. Then, take local transportation to Nishiki Market, a vibrant and bustling shopping district in Kyoto, Japan. Known as "Kyoto's Kitchen," Nishiki Market is a must-visit destination for food lovers and anyone looking to immerse themselves in the local culture. At Nishiki Market, you can find everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to seafood, meat, and spices. The market is also home to numerous restaurants and local eateries, where you can sample traditional Japanese cuisine and street food. Day 9Kyoto - Hakone
This morning the group will leave Kyoto for Hakone by train. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the Hakone shrine's serene atmosphere, admiring its intricate architecture and paying homage to the enshrined deities. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Next on the itinerary is a visit to Owakudani, a volcanic valley known for its geothermal activity. Afterward, venture to the Hakone Open-Air Museum, an enchanting fusion of art and nature. Stroll through the sprawling grounds, admiring a diverse collection of sculptures and paintings displayed amidst beautiful gardens. Engage with interactive exhibits and immerse yourself in the creative vision of renowned artists from around the world. Finally, after a whole day of exploring, you will arrive at your onsen hotel. Make your way to the onsen, the heart of any onsen hotel. The onsen is a natural hot spring, and the water is believed to have therapeutic properties. You will sink into the warm, mineral-rich water, letting your worries and tiredness melt away. This evening, enjoy the kaiseki dinner is a traditional Japanese meal that consists of multiple courses, each served in its own beautifully crafted dish. The meal will begin with an appetizer, followed by a variety of dishes, including sashimi, grilled fish, and steamed vegetables. Each dish will be presented with great care and attention to detail, and you will be able to savor the delicate flavors and textures of Japanese cuisine.

Day 10Hakone - Mt Fuji - Tokyo
This morning, enjoy more onsen time before breakfast. Then, bid farewell to your onsen resort and continue your journey. No visit to Japan is complete without seeing Mt. Fuji. Start your tour by visiting the Mt. Fuji 5th Station, one of the popular meet-up points for Mt Fuji climbers, we will not climb the mountain but we will visit here to take the closest picture of this natural beauty. (If the weather does not permit and 5th station, we will change it to visit at Mt Fuji visitor center) After the tour, take a train and head to Tokyo. Upon arriving in Shinjuku, transfer to your hotel. This evening, enjoy Kabukicho and Golden Gai which famous entertainment district best known for adult-oriented nightlife.

This morning, your first stop is the serene Meiji Shrine, a sacred oasis dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of its lush gardens and admire the intricate architecture of the shrine's buildings. As you wander through the grounds, you'll feel a sense of peace and spirituality wash over you. From there, we'll make our way to the vibrant district of Omotesando. This stylish boulevard is known for its upscale boutiques, designer stores, and trendy cafes. Take your time to browse through the latest fashion collections, or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere as you stroll along the tree-lined streets. Our final destination for the morning is the bustling neighborhood of Harajuku. Known as the epicenter of Japanese pop culture, Harajuku is a must-visit for anyone interested in fashion, music, and art. Explore the colorful streets, where you'll find everything from quirky boutiques to vintage shops. Be sure to keep an eye out for the famous Harajuku girls, known for their extravagant and creative outfits. Hop on at one of the cafe in Harajuku and enjoy your lunch there. After lunch, wake up your musical genes by participate the TAIKO play experience. Return to hotel and balance of the day is leisure.

Today you will visit Sensoji-temple and enjoy Nakamise souvenir Street. You may have the opportunity to see a few cherry trees blossoming nearby. Feel free to go shopping during your free time. This evening, gather again and enjoy a farewell dinner at a night cruise. Enjoy a beautiful night of the Sumida River, Tokyo Bay and Tokyo Skytree are all under your eyes.
