Our captivating journey begins with a visit to Goa Gajah, also known as the Elephant Cave, in Bedulu near Ubud. Established in the 9th century, this sanctuary for Buddhist monks is renowned for its intricate carvings and ornate reliefs on its facade. Next, we'll continue to Pejeng, a small settlement nestled in the Petauan River valley. Here, you'll marvel at the Moon of Pejeng, the world's largest single-cast bronze kettle drum. Housed within the Pura Penataran Asih Temple, this impressive drum is a sight to behold. You'll also visit the intriguing Purbakala Archaeological Museum and explore smaller temples like Pura Arjuna Metapa, beautifully situated amidst rice paddy fields. Please be aware that the path to this temple can sometimes be muddy and slippery. En route to central Ubud, we'll pass by the stunning rice terraces near Tegalalang village. Here, you can have lunch (not included) and visit Pasar Seni, the town's vibrant art market. This colorful marketplace offers various items, including clothing, textiles, leather goods, and locally designed jewelry. Enjoy browsing and making purchases, but remember that prices are negotiable, so don't hesitate to bargain for a fair deal. Our afternoon departure will take you back to your hotel or resort.
